Albert Lee Johnson, Sr., husband of Ruth Jones Johnson, departed this life on Monday, March 2, 2020 at the Hospice Care Center in Lexington, having attained the age of 88 years.

Albert was born in Bath County, Kentucky on March 8, 1931, the son of the late Claude and Minnie Belle Ham Johnson. He was retired, having worked as a supervisor for the State Highway Department, was a Kentucky Colonel, and a member of Central Baptist Church.

Besides his wife Ruth, he is survived by a son, Albert L. Johnson, Jr., (Charlene); two daughters, Alice Fields (Gayle), Vickie Bretz (William); eight grandchildren, Shawn Bretz, Mary Hunter (Kris), Rebecca Allison (Larry), Chris Johnson, Albert Lee Johnson III, Ashley Doughman (Brandon), Ryan Fields, and Maranda Banks. Also surviving are eight great grandchildren; a nephew, Ronnie Johnson; two nieces, Etheleen Hondrue and Carolyn Dean Horn. Private inurnment services were held Monday, July 13, 2020 in the Garden of Christus at Evergreen Memory Gardens
