(Carr) Calvert
April 1, 1924 – March 18, 2018
Allie "Bee" Carr Calvert, 93, left her earthly home to be with her Heavenly Father on March 18, 2018.
She was the daughter of the late Frank and Nellie Carr. She was a Lexington native, preceded in death by her husband of 63 years, Everett Calvert.
Bee is survived by a son, Jackie Lee Calvert (Rinda Couch); grandchildren, Joy Lee, Leigh Ann and Christopher; great-grandchildren, Kayleigh and Tristan; a sister, Louise Charles; a brother, Jackie Carr; a sister through Christian love and friendship, Mary Sue Lillie; and a special friend, Paula Moran; many cousins, nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by three sisters; her twin sister, Hallie "Sweet" Lanter, Viola Dunn and Barbara Wells. Bee was a homemaker, and was very active in her church home at Old Union Christian, where she was a life long member. She was very active in leading the youth groups, C.W.F. and was a Sunday school teacher. Bee was also a loving, supportive and devoted member of the choir for over 50 years. She loved the Lord, her church family and was a friend to all. She was also an avid UK basketball fan and a bowler for many years.
Funeral service will be 10 a.m. Thursday at Old Union Christian Church. Burial will be in Evergreen Memory Gardens. Visitation will be 5 to 8 p.m. Wednesday at the church.
Pall Bearers will be Christopher Calvert, Paula Moran, Bryan Moran, Ray Lillie, Gene Oakley, Gayle Tipton, Gary "Button" Tipton, Glenn Tipton and William "Buster" Tipton. Honorary Pall Bearers will be Tommy Calvert, Russell Calvert, Randy Calvert and Joe Charles. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to Old Union Christian Church Choir, 6859 Russell Cave Rd. 40511
Kerr Brothers Funeral Home-Main St. is in charge of arrangements.
