Almeda Della Thomas Rice, 85, widow of the late James Rice, Sr., died Thursday June 14, 2018 at Baptist Health, Lexington, KY.

A native of Paris, KY, she was the daughter of the late Lincoln Gabriel and Carrie Elizabeth Cage Thomas. She was a retired nurses tech. at the Bourbon Community Hospital with over 50 years service, a member of the First Baptist Church, played the organ and loved The Young and The Restless.

She is survived by three children, James Rice, Jr., Harvey Christopher (Dorothy) Rice and Pamela Rice (Mario) Fernandez, six grandchildren, LaMarr (Sonja) Raglin, Justin (Megan) Raglin, Lamont (Sadie) Rice, Brandon (Amanda) Rice, Crystal Rice and Renando (Jessica) Hawkins; ten great grandchildren, Olivia Rice, Erica Rice, Victoria Rice, Nicole Rice, Jordan Raglin, Jaday Raglin, Christian Raglin, Dakota Raglin, Roman Raglin and Grayson Raglin; and a host of nieces, nephews and cousins, including a special niece, Sabrina Rice.

In addition to her husband and parents she was also preceded in death by a daughter, Carolyn Sue Rice and a grandson, Eric Rice.

Funeral services will be conducted at 1:00 PM Saturday June 23, 2018 at the First Baptist Church, 128 W. 8th St., Paris, KY by Rev. Aaron Crumbie. Burial will be in the Evergreen Memory Gardens. Visitation will be from 11:00 AM Saturday June 23, 2018 until the hour of service at the church.

Pallbearers will be Elmer Thomas, Jr., Randolph Thomas, Benny Thomas, Ivan Thomas, Gary Trumbo and John Ayers. Honorary pallbearers will be Dewayne Rice, Ivan Rice, Terry Rice and William Jacobs.
