Obituary

Andrew Lee Gay, 86, passed away Friday, February 22, 2019. He was born on January 31, 1933 in Farmville, North Carolina to the late Richard and Minnie (Lindsay) Gay.

Andrew was a retiree of G.F. Vaughan Tobacco Warehouse in Lexington after 30 years as a foreman. He was a past member of Free Will Baptist Church in North Carolina. He was also known as a "fix-it" man. He was always doing something, from gardening to small engine repair; he was always willing to lend a hand. He was loved by his family and neighbors alike and will be greatly missed.

Andrew is survived by his life partner, Jennifer Chandler; sons, Daren (Kelsee) Chandler, Ricardo Hines, Drew (Angela) Chandler, and Bryan Brown; daughters, Victoria Gay and Renita Gay; brother, Glenwood (Ann) Gay; sisters, Esther Adams, Emma Pearl Harris, and Jessie White, as well as three grandchildren and one great-grandchild. He is also survived by his good friend, Gene Relford.  In addition to his parents, Andrew was preceded in death by his brother, Herbert Gay and sisters, Amanda Louise Gay, Essie Ruth Parrish, and Annie Jay Watkins.

Funeral service will be held 11:00 am on Saturday, March 2nd at Milward–Broadway, located at 159 N. Broadway, Lexington. Interment will be in Evergreen Memory Gardens following service on Saturday.
