We gather to celebrate the life and to fellowship in remembrance of Arthur "Smokie" Clayborne; a beloved son, brother, uncle, cousin, nephew, and friend. Arthur was born April 21, 1975 to Wanda Williams and the late Arthur Clayborne Jr. He peacefully returned to the essence November 2, 2025 at the University of Kentucky hospital. Arthur was a hard working man, master chef and dear friend who enjoyed his freedom to live life by his standards, with total disregard for external judgment. He loved his family, believed in God, and is now free from his pain and suffering. We celebrate his life, we remember his laughter, and we carry on with him in our minds and hearts. Arthur is survived by his mother, Wanda Williams, his lifelong companion Tanya Hagler and their 3 sons: Giovauni Clayborne, Xavier Lamont Hagler, and Arthur Jr., 5 siblings: Antimny Benjamin (Christopher Benjamin), Demetrius Clayborne (Darionna Logan-Clayborne), Min. Arthur Lewis (Cynthia Lewis), Ashun Lewis, and Taleka Lewis-Walker (Rico Walker), 3 aunts, 5 uncles, a host of nieces and nephews, countless cousins, and family and friends who loved him unconditionally. Arthur joins many loved ones who transitioned before him in the kingdom of heaven.
