Arthur Thomas Wagoner Jr., age 76, of Lexington, Kentucky, went home to Jesus on Tuesday, September 9, 2025 at Saint Joseph Hospital. He was the son of the late Arthur T. Wagoner Sr. and the late Evelyn Guy Wagoner. He has two surviving sisters, Patsy "Pat" Wagoner Spicer and Bonnie (Kevin) Wagoner Crump, both of Paris; nieces, Vicki (Roy) Barney, Georgetown, and Laura (Bret) Jackson, Bourbon County; great nephews, Thomas Allen Barney of Paris, James Preston Barney of Georgetown, James "J.J." Jackson of Bourbon County; and great niece, Sadie Jackson of Bourbon County. He had many cousins and friends. He is also survived by an uncle, E.J. (Marilyn) Caswell and an aunt, Bobbie Guy (Harold) Parsons, both of Paris. Arthur was a Christian, he loved Jesus. He attended Eastland Church of God (Anderson, Indiana). He loved to listen to country and Christian music, playing his organ, watching television, and reading. Arthur was one of the first students of the Paris Cerebral Palsy School. The school was later added to the Paris School system. Arthur was forced to leave the school due to him turning 21. He continued to learn with the help of family. He moved to Lexington, Kentucky to be in a special program for the handicapped. He retired from Independent Opportunities. Arthur was a Kentucky Colonel. Visitation will be 11:00 a.m. Friday, September 12, 2025 at the Hinton-Turner Funeral Home followed by a funeral service at 1:00 p.m. with Rev. David Mefford officiating. Burial will be in Evergreen Memory Gardens. Casket bearers will be Eugene Shields, Roy Barney, Thomas Barney, Chris Berry, James "J.J." Jackson, and Bret Jackson. Honorary bearers will be James Barney, Sadie Jackson, Brenda Fletcher, Johnny Bussell, Larita Penn, Jerry Wagoner, his cousins, and members of his Sunday School class.
