IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Bessie Mae
(Scott) Dale
January 23, 1942 – April 23, 2025
Bessie Mae Scott Dale, a beacon of love and joy, completed her earthly journey on April 23, 2025, at the age of 83 in Lexington, Kentucky. Born in Paris, Kentucky on January 23, 1942, to James and Mattie Scott, Sr., Bessie lived a life marked by kindness, friendship, and deep faith.
Bessie's vibrant spirit will be treasured forever by her loving family. She was the proud mother of two daughters, Donna (Brian) Clark, Tanya (Michael) McCoy; one son, William E. (Sonia) Scott; and cherished Bonus daughter, Victoria Brown. Her ten grandchildren, Carl, Yashica, Monica, Ronica, Chontrelle, Jessica, Demarcus, Anthony, Latasha, and Nyca, along with 19 great- grandchildren, have been blessed to learn life's greatest lessons under her nurturing care. Bessie's dear friend, Patricia Myers, her attentive nieces, Patsy Ann, Michelle, and Crystal, and her nephew James will forever hold onto the warm memories shared with her.
Bessie was reunited in eternal rest with her beloved husband, Jesse D. Dale; her devoted parents; her brothers, James Jr., Wilbur, Ray Baby, and John; and her sister, Dorothy. Each one had shared and shaped the chapters of her remarkable story.
Bessie spent her life as a dedicated Homemaker and caretaker, giving her time and love to those around her. Serving as an usher at Zion Baptist Church and as a member of the American Legion Post #165 Auxiliary, her contribution to her community was profound. Always the life of the party, Bessie found joy in dancing, laughed often, and was renowned for her skill in card games like Spades and 5up. These interests were mere extensions of her character—filled with fun and vibrancy.
A woman of unwavering faith, Bessie lived her life as a testimony to the values she held dear. She approached every day with a smile, treating friends and strangers alike with a gentleness that earned her the love and respect of many. Bessie's departure leaves a void in the hearts of those who knew her, but her legacy will continue to inspire kindness, joy, and a zest for life in all who celebrate her memory.
