Beverly Jean Darneal was born November 14, 1942, in Lexington, KY, to the union of Robert Brown Sr. and Mary Elizabeth Brown (Garner). She was quietly called home from this life to everlasting joy on October 5, 2022.
On her profession of faith in Christ Jesus as Savior, she united with the Main Street Baptist Church, on April 30th, 1950, under the ministry of the late Pastor Reggie H. Johnson. Here she grew in her devotion to Christ Jesus and remained faithful until death. Sis. Darneal served as the financial secretary at Main Street Baptist Church for 55 years. She worked diligently in the church with the culinary committee and as a Sunday School Teacher. Over the years, she sang in the choir and supported every ministry at Main Street.
She graduated from Paul L. Dunbar High School in 1960. She then completed her Associates Degree at West Kentucky Vocational School and became a licensed cosmetologist. She was a faithful member of the Animos Fidelos Social Club.
She was married to William A. Darneal on November 5, 1966, and to this union, two children were born, Kendrick and Kelli. She was preceded in death by her loving husband William A. Darneal, her parents, Robert Brown Sr. and Mary Elizabeth Brown (Garner), as well as her brother Jay B. Persley.
Remaining to cherish loving memories are her children: Kendrick (DeNyene) Darneal, Kelli (Manuel) Garr, her stepson Anthony (Carla) Vinegar. Her grandchildren Tyler Vinegar, Lorenzo Rowan, Caden Darneal, and Ava Garr. Her siblings, Barbara "Barkie" Berry, Pastor Robert "Bob" (Bertie) Brown, Dwight (Angela) Brown, Valerie (Joe) Bradley, Kenneth Brown, Virgie DeMerritt, Sisters-in-law Frances Persley, and Billie Ann (Quinn) Martin and a host of nieces and nephews.
