Billy W Owens, 79, Hernando, FL

Billy W. Owens of Hernando, FL peacefully passed away at Vitas Hospice in Lecanto, FL on August 13, 2020 at the age of 79.

Bill was born in Paris, Kentucky on January 30, 1941 to the late William and Lucille (Cinnamon) Owens.

He proudly served his country as a member of the U. S. Army. Bill was an English teacher at Citrus High School in Inverness, FL for over 30 years. He was an avid golfer and poker player, a world traveler, loved to read, do crossword puzzles and draw, hosted many Gourmette outings with his friends, and was a member of both the CHS Hong Kong Club and CHS Old Goats.

Bill is survived by his son, William Christian Owens of California; his brother, Lonnie Owens of Florida; his former wife and friend, Caroline Morrison of Kentucky; and many dear friends and former students. There will not be a service. Cremation care is by the Chas E. Davis Funeral Home of Inverness, FL. Bill's ashes will be returned to Paris, KY by his family.
