Obituary

Carole Lou Estes Hamilton, age 88, of DeLand, Florida, formerly of Paris, departed this life on Tuesday, July 14, 2026, at Centerpoint Health in Winchester, surrounded by her loving family. Carole was born in Winchester on July 15, 1937, the daughter of the late Arthur E. and Christine McEwan Rice, attended Transylvania University as well as Midway and was a retired real estate agent. Known for the wonderful country hams in the area, she was the co-owner of Estes Country Hams, was a member of the Bourbon County Garden Club, the Red Hat Society, a member of the Bourbon County Fair Board and loved sewing and tending to her flowers. She was an active member for many years at the First Christian Church – Paris, and in Florida attended Trinity Methodist Church in Deleon Springs. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her first husband Donald Wayne Estes as well as her last husband, Bill Hamilton.

Surviving are three daughters, Debbie (Timmy C.) Roe, Tina (Darryl) Richardson, Valarie (David) Craker; and a son, Wayne (Nancy) Estes. Also surviving are eight grandchildren, Clary Estes, Hannah Estes, Chad (Ashleigh) Roe, Laura (Greg) Wilson, Kirsten (Anthony) Doolin, Nicholas Craker, Chandler (Ericka) Craker, Justin Richardson; as well as eleven great grandchildren.

The family chose cremation with a private service to be held at a later date and inurnment to be in Evergreen Memory Gardens.
