Obituary

Charles "Mickey" Mullins gained his heavenly wings on August 3rd., 2025, at the age of 82, with his loving wife Connie of 18 years by his side. Born on August 30th., 1942 in Lexington, Kentucky to the late Charles and Hilda Leake Mullins. Mickey's life was a testament to his unwavering faith and dedication to his loved ones. He came from a large family, 5 brothers and 7 sisters, who maintained a strong family bond throughout adulthood. Mickey is preceded in death by his parents Charles and Hilda, son Wayne Mullins, brothers Leon Mullins, Joe Mullins, and Jimmy Mullins, and sisters Theresa Russell, Jackie Royalty, and Sylvia Mulcahy, and his beloved dog of 15 years, Izzy.

He is survived by his wife Connie Lea Mullins, children Tony Ray Mullins and Scarlet Rose Shelton (Jacob), brothers Donald Ray Mullins (Rita) and Louis Mullins, sisters Trudy "Gerty" Stone, Dottie Jeter, Linda Turner (Ron), and Connie Wells, and a host of grandchildren, great grandchildren, nephews, nieces, and many special friends, too many to mention by name.

Mickey was known for his faith in God and a devout Catholic, and a member of Christ the King. He accomplished many things in his life. He coached middle school football, mentoring many youth throughout the years. Mickey was a former president of the Kiwanis Club and other local organizations. He sold pagers to the physicians, copy machines to businesses, enjoyed selling cars, and worked at Lexington Autospa in his later years.

He had a quirky sense of humor. He was a competitive golfer and Rook player with his close friends and siblings. who enjoyed his golfing trips with family and friends. Mickey loved football and his Cincinnati Reds baseball team.

Mickey will always be remembered for his handsome smile, compassionate heart, and steadfast love for his family and friends. His presence would lite up any room. Mickey was given a gift to talk to people, never meeting a stranger. His legacy will live on and he will always be remembered by his grace and precious heart.

The family will receive friends on Thursday, August 7, 2025 from 11am to 1pm.  Services for Mickey will follow at 1pm in the funeral home chapel of Milward-Southland.  Interment will be at Evergreen Memory Gardens.
