Obituary

Christine "Teenie" Mattox Highland, 90, widow of James Leslie Highland, died Tuesday, May 14, 2019 at Bourbon Heights Nursing Home, Paris, KY.

A native of Cynthiana, KY, she was the daughter of the late John William Mattox and Elizabeth Maybrier Mattox. She was a member of Trinity Church of God, retired from Kentucky Textiles and loved to quilt.

She is survived by two daughters, Linda (Daryl) McFarland and Peggy (Rick) Stanfield; one son, Billy Clay (Shirley) Highland; eight grandchildren, Cory (Katie) McFarland, Anthony (Katie) McFarland, Bradley (Missy) McFarland, Shawn (Renee) Highland, Chastity (Harold) Richardson, Leslie (James) Smith, Tabitha (Barry) Johnson and Christal (LaBrawn) Holman; a number of great grandchildren and great great grandchildren; two sisters, Nancy Sparks and Pauline (Jim) Sosby and a number of nieces, nephews and cousins.

In addition to her husband and parents, she was preceded in death by two sons, James Fraley Highland and Thomas Highland; one daughter, JoAnn Highland; two brothers James Mattox and L.R. Mattox; three sisters, Loraine Adams, Lucille Moreland and Ethel Webb.

Funeral services will be conducted at 11:00 AM Friday, May 17, 2019 at Lusk-McFarland Funeral Home, 1120 Main St., Paris, KY by Bro. William Singleton. Burial will be in the Evergreen Memory Gardens. Visitation will be from 5-8 PM Thursday, May 16, 2019 at the funeral home.

Pallbearers will be Robert McFarland, Brandon Stanfield, Anthony McFarland, Barry Johnson, Jarred Johnson, Jordan Stanfield and Brent Holman. Honorary pallbearers will be the grandchildren.

The funeral arrangements were entrusted to the Lusk-McFarland Funeral Home, 1120 Main St., Paris, KY 40361.
