Cordia Sykes Pope was born October 28, 1932, to the late Christopher Columbus Sr and Anna Lee Sykes. She went on to be with her beloved husband of 66 years on November 13, 2025. She was preceded in death by her husband Robert H. Pope Sr., daughter Vivian Pope-Bledsoe, fur baby Kiki Pope, grandson Jeremy Pope, along with her brother and sisters. Cordia joined Consolidated Baptist Church and accepted Christ at an early age. She was a proud member of the Culinary Committee for many years where she proudly helped cook and serve others. Cordia happily retired as the Supervisor of Blanding Towers at the University of Kentucky after 37 years. Along with her husband they owned Pope's Mini Homes which provided housing for the elderly. Cordia is survived by her son, Robert (Brenda) Pope, Jr.; a daughter, Odessa (Alvin) Wells; a son-in-law, John Bledsoe; granddaughter, Kiyoka Wells; great grandson, J'Marcus Pope; great-great grandson, Tre'Ontae Pope and grand pup, Teddy Wells. She also leaves a special grandson, Marcus Shelby along with many cherished nieces and nephews.

Entombment services for Cordia Pope will be held Saturday, November 22, 2025 in our Good Shepherd Mausoleum.
