Cynthia Ann Knox Bates, 82, widow of Robert Lee "Bob" Bates, passed away Saturday, September 10, 2022, at Baptist Health Lexington. She was born in Stanton, Kentucky, on September 3, 1940, to the late Guy Knox and Gertie McCoy Knox.

She is survived by her brother, Winford "Trent" Knox; sister, Lorene Maloney; grandchildren, David Lee Ousley and Sean Ousley; nieces, Wilma Jo Back and Cindy White; and nephew, Mike Maloney. In addition to her husband, Bob, she is preceded in death by a daughter, Jennifer Ousley, and a niece, Tammy Knox.

Services will be held at 12:00 PM, Saturday, September 17, at Betts & West Funeral Home with Pastor Gary Bellamy officiating. Burial will follow at Evergreen Memory Gardens on Paris Pike. Casket bearers will be Wendell, Keith, Eric, Noah, Hunter, and Joel Noble. Visitation will be from 10:00 AM until the time of service, Saturday, at the funeral home.
