Obituary

Debbie L. "McCann" Stokes came into this world on April 13th, 1961 to the late Mary E. "Piersall" McCann and George W. Peyton, went home to be with the Lord on Wednesday October 18th, 2023.

She is preceded in death by her sisters Mary L. McCann, Anna E. Howard, Barbara McCann and brother, Robert Peyton.

Debbie confessed her faith in Christ at an early age and attended Imani Missionary Baptist Church where she was a faithful usher. She was a devoted and loving wife, mother, sister, aunt and friend. She operated in many roles throughout her employment and enjoyed working with others. During her employment with the Fayette Co. Public School system, she made an impressionable impact in the lives of all the students she was graced to cross paths with.

She leaves to cherish her loving memory, husband Robert Wayne Stokes; two son's, Diontae Delmar McCann, Omarion Stokes; 3 granddaughters one bonus daughter, Andrea S. Stokes; 2 bonus granddaughters, Gabrielle McDaniel, Jezelle Harbison; seven sisters; Willie Griggs, Glenda "Leonard" Burt, Brenda "McCann" Knowles, Doris McCann, Barbie "McCann" Cowan "Troy", Rachel Fuller & Christina Peyton; six brothers, Smith T. McCann Jr., Earl T. McCann, Robert McCann, George R. Peyton, Bruce Peyton, Garvin Peyton & a host of nieces, nephews and cousins.
