Elizabeth "Betsy" Louise Allen Dailey, wife of Peter R. Dailey IV of Winchester, departed this life on Monday, June 12, 2023. She was born February 3, 1953, in Paris, daughter of James E. Allen and Marjorie Nell Davis Allen, precious mother who didn't get to enjoy motherhood here on earth long enough but was a mother figure to all and loved by many others. Betsy was a graduate of Paris High School as well as Morehead State University with a double major in Education and Social Work. She was retired, having worked as a social worker with the state and Community Action where she taught preschool. She worked tirelessly for many years on the Bourbon County Fair board where she helped many reach their goals. She supported her husband for over 40 years in their family business as they grew together. Her most important job ever was taking care of her three precious grandchildren after her eldest daughter Susanna passed away in 2021. Betsy is survived by her husband of 40 years, Petie; her late daughter's fiancée, Michael Kirk; a brother, James (Nancye) Allen of Paris; a brother, David (Vicky) Allen of Winchester; a sister, Katherine Allen of Winchester; a brother-in-law, Randy (Anne) Dailey of Paris; a sister-in-law, Deborah (Jimmy) Ball of Lexington; a brother-in-law, Thomas Dailey of Lexington; grandchildren, Sawyer Dailey Kirk, Chapman Michael Kirk, and Nash York Kirk. Also surviving are numerous nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her two daughters, Susanna York Dailey, and Julia Katherine "Katy" Dailey; and a brother-in-law, James "Jamie" Dailey. The funeral service for Elizabeth "Betsy" Louise Allen Dailey will be at 11:00 a.m. on Monday, June 19, 2023, at Bedford Acres Christian Church with Rev. David Casey and Rev. Jim Hutchison officiating. Interment will follow in Evergreen Memory Gardens with casket bearers being Chad Rankin, Nathan Allen, Kent Jones, Josh Hudson, George DiDaniels, Kenny Tincher, Daniel Dailey, Gary Barnes, Brett Waldrop, and Joe Levenson. Honorary bearers are Frank Doyle, Julia Owens Sayers, Jimmy Ball, David Allen, and James E. Allen II. Visitation will be on Sunday evening, June 18, 2023, from 5:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at Bedford Acres Christian Church. The family suggest memorial donations to St. Jude Children's Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, Tennessee 38105-9959.
