Emily Hutchison McCarty, born September 24, 1934, to Marion and Emma Hutchison, passed on October 12, 2022.

She is survived by her husband of 71 years Alva McCarty, her children Mona (Rick) Seratt, Barbara (Roy) Shields, and Tracy McCarty, her grandchildren Travis (Jennifer) Pelfrey, Elizabeth Seratt Haynes, Jeremy (J.R.) Pelfrey, and Brayden McCarty, her great grandchildren Jacob Pelfrey, Arlie Pelfrey, Frankie Seratt, John Mason Haynes, Emma Seratt, Raymond Wagner, Colin Wagner, and Liam Peterson and a very special friend and "sister at heart" Doris Compton.  Emily is preceded in death by her granddaughter Tori Puckett, and her great granddaughters Alexia Pelfrey and Courtney Katie Puckett.

A service will be held at Kerr Brothers Funeral Home-Main Street Saturday, October 15, 2022, at 12PM with burial to follow at Evergreen Memorial Garden. A visitation will be held from 5-7PM Friday, October 14, 2022, at Kerr Brothers Funeral Home-Main Street. Pallbearers for the service will include Marion McCarty, John David McCarty, Travis Pelfrey, Jacob Pelfrey, Jeremy Pelfrey, and Roy Shields, with honorary pallbearers Libby Seratt-Haynes, Rick Seratt, Arlie Pelfrey, Brayden McCarty, and Clayton McCarty.
