Faila Chalo, 66, was born on 1959 and passed away on Wednesday June 4, 2025 at Baptist Health, Lexington. Born in Kazimia, Fizi in the Democratic Republic of Congo, Faila Chalo was daughter of Leonale Selemani and Sifa Abwe.

She lived most of her life as a farmer, providing produce for her family. Farming was not just a way of providing the produce for her family, but she also did it for fun to make herself happy.

Faila Chalo had 13 children in general, unfortunately, three passed away at their very young age making 10 surviving, seven sons and three daughters. In addition to her children, Faila Chalo has forty-six grandchildren and 21 great grandchildren. Tracing from her origin in the DRC, Faila Chalo belongs to the Wabembe ethnic extraction most of whom occupy the South-Kivu province.

Funeral services will be held at 10:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. on Saturday, June 14, 2025, at St. Luke Methodist Church 2351 Alumni Dr, Lexington, KY 40517. Burial will follow in the Evergreen Memory Gardens.
