Gary Kenneth Whalen went to be with the Lord on January 2, 2020 after a lengthy battle with cancer and heart disease. He is at peace and rest and God is taking care of him now. He was born September 27, 1955 in Paris, KY. He was 64. He is survived by his wife, Mary Kay Whalen and his mother, Patsy Turner. He was preceded in death by his father, Kenneth Whalen and his brother, Mark Whalen. Gary was a 1973 graduate of Bryan Station and a former employee of Lexmark. He was a well known local musician. Gary played the drums with his father's band "Henry Whalen and the Travelers." He was baptized in the Presbyterian Church when he was 13 years old. There will be a graveside service at 11 AM Wednesday, January 8, 2020 at Evergreen Memorial Gardens in Paris, Kentucky. Rev. Willie Cole of Christ Centered Church will be officiating. Care Cremation and Funeral Service is honored to be entrusted with final care.
