George William Jakob, 76, husband of Elizabeth Ann Loughlin Jakob, died Sunday, October 15, 2023, at the Rockcastle Regional Hospital, Mount Vernon, KY.
Born in Brooklyn, NY, he was the son of the late George William Jakob and Elizabeth Gertrude Klutz Jakob. George was a retired produce manager at several stores in the Brooklyn, NY area and later he worked as a TV Technician. He enjoyed model cars, wood working, going to the rifle range, Yankee Baseball, puzzles on the Ipad and watching Cowboy shows. He was a talented woodworker, having made his own console TV. He was also a veteran of the United States Army having served during the Vietnam War.
In addition to his wife, he is survived by three daughters, Lydia Davis, Stacy (David) Cassidy, Debbie Jakob; two grandchildren, David Cassidy, Kayla Cassidy; one sister, Elaine Jakob and several nieces' nephews and cousins.
In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by one sister, Elizabeth Schodel.
Funeral Mass will be conducted at 10:00 AM Friday, October 20, 2023, at the Catholic Church of the Annunciation, 1007 Main Street., Paris, KY by Father Danny Fister. Burial will be at Evergreen Memory Gardens.
There will be two nights of visitation, the first night will be from 5-8 PM Wednesday, October 18, 2023, at Lusk-McFarland Funeral Home. The second night will be from 5-8 PM Thursday, October 19, 2023, at the Catholic Church of Annunciation with a Rosary service at 7:00 PM.
The funeral arrangements were entrusted to the Lusk-McFarland Funeral Home, 1120 Main Street., Paris, KY.
