Geraldine Myers Ransom, age 94, of Paris, Kentucky, passed away on September 15, 2026. She was born on July 9, 1932, in Durham, North Carolina, and lived a life marked by love, faith, wisdom, and devotion to her family and community.

Geraldine was a Christian woman whose life reflected the values she held dear. She was a longtime member of Seventh Street Christian Church, where her faith remained an important part of her daily walk. She found joy in sharing the good word of Jesus, and her gentle spirit and encouraging presence touched many lives over the years.

She was retired from the TB Hospital and the Bourbon County Hospital, where she worked as a cook. Through her work, Geraldine served others with care and dedication, and she was known for the warmth she brought to every task. Her cooking was an expression of her love, and she especially enjoyed preparing meals for her family and those gathered around her table.

Geraldine loved taking care of her grandchildren and treasured every moment spent with family and friends. She also enjoyed singing and playing bingo, and she found happiness in the simple blessings of life. Those who knew her will remember her as a loving, faith-filled, and wise woman whose presence brought comfort and strength to others.

She is survived by her three children, Willene Ransom, Richard “Fox” Ransom, and Samuel Ransom, Jr. She also leaves behind nine grandchildren, Korian Ransom, Shawn Ransom, Eric Thomas, Tasha (J.C.) Mitchell, Jeremy Ransom, Jermaine (Dee) Ransom, Charity Ransom, Nicole Johnson, Travis Johnson, Samuel Ransom, III, Jody Pope, Lachell Taylor, Toyua (Rob) Matlock, Russell (Amiac) Pryor and James Screetch, Jr.; a host of great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren; nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends; and special loved ones including great grandson, Titus Ransom and great niece, Donzetta (Marcus) Ashford.

Geraldine was preceded in death by her husband, Samuel Ransom; her parents, Henry Myers and Annie Warren Myers; her sons, Henry Ransom, Stanhope Ransom, and Jimmy “Screetch” Ransom; her daughter, Pam Reed; a grandson, Patrick Johnson; granddaughter, Nyioka Screetch; great grandson, Jamaun Ransom ; her sisters, Maggie Garrard, Josie Edwards, Sarah McGuire, and Anna Henderson; and her brothers, William Henry and George Myers.

Her life was a blessing to all who knew her, and her memory will continue to live on in the hearts of those she loved. Geraldine’s legacy of kindness, faith, and devotion will be cherished always.

Funeral services will be conducted at 12:00 PM Friday September 25, 2026, by Rev. Dr. Morgan Gilkey and Rev. William Garr at the Seventh Street Christian Church, 122 W. 7th St., Paris, KY. Burial to follow in the Evergreen Memory Gardens, Paris, KY.

Visitation will be from 10:00 AM Friday September 25, 2026, until the hour of service at the church.

Pallbearers will be Jakari Ransom, Jalen Ransom, Titus Ransom, Jordan Mitchell, Jayden Mitchell, Tyzian White, Damond Lyons and Joshua Bell, Jr. Honorary pallbearers will be Eric Thomas, Jermaine Ransom, Jeremy Ransom, Shawn Ransom, Artie Myers and Phillip Garrad.
