Gladys Paynter George, widow of Everett George, Jr., whom she was married to for 69 years, was carried to Heaven on Wednesday evening, January 18, 2023, at the age of 92 years. Gladys was born in Cincinnati, Ohio, on February 05, 1930, the daughter of the late Garland and Louise Cassity Paynter, was a graduate of Paris High School, and served her family well as a homemaker. She had many talents which included sewing and she did alterations for a lot of folks in Bourbon County. For many years she worked at the Bourbon Drive In, called BANKO, and ran the concessions. She enjoyed manning a Little League Concession stand with her son, Garland, and his wife JoAnn. She loved her church, Herrington Methodist, of which she was a member, and considered her pastor and each member a part of her family. She loved deeply and completely and will be missed by many. Surviving is a son, Garland (JoAnn) George; a daughter, Paula (Darrell) Brown; grandchildren, Amy (Sean) Brady, Bradley (Michelle) George, Bree (Chris) Garrison, Brett (Yasmin) Becraft, and Katie Phillips. Also surviving are her great grandchildren, Conner Brady, Cameron Brady, Grant Garrison, Samuel Garrison, Jack Garrison, Merrick George, Atticus George, Lenore Becraft, Maggie Becraft, Isabel Becraft, William Phillips, Dillon Phillips; and one great, great grandchild, Margot Brady. The funeral service for Gladys Paynter George will be at 11:00 a. m. on Monday, January 23, 2023, at Hinton Turner Funeral Home with Rev. April Jolly officiating. Interment will follow in Evergreen Memory Gardens with casket bearers being Bradley George, Conner Brady, Cameron Brady, Brett Becraft, Grant Garrison, and Samuel Garrison. Honorary bearers are Chris Garrison, Sean Brady, Jack Garrison, and Will Phillips.
