Harvey C. "Nick" Nichols, 84, husband of Jackie Wingo-Nichols, died Tuesday October 18, 2022 at the University of Kentucky Medical Center, Lexington, KY.
He was born in Brentsville, KY to the late Charlie and Elizabeth Fugate Nichols. He was retired from University of Kentucky maintenance department, was a long time horse trainer at Stone Farms, Pairs, KY and was a member of the Breeder's Cup Horseman Association. Nick enjoyed fishing, anything to do with horses and being a handyman around the house and the neighborhood. He was very active in his church Veaches Chapel CME, where he served as Deacon. He also graduated from carpentry school and loved spending time with his family.
In addition to his wife, he is survived by seven daughters, Cassandra (Mike) Richardson, Leslie (Allen) Carter, Harvetta Nichols, Shell Nichols, Gwendolyn Roberts, Kelly Wingo and Shelly (Eddie) Wingo-Weaver; one son, Dylan Roberts; four grandchildren, Chase (Rachel) Nichols, Cameron (Ashley) Richardson, Chelsea Scott and Alexandra Weaver; eight great grandchildren, Anyiah Nichols, Ayla Mae Nichols, Azari Nichols, Carson Clark, Bennett Richardson, Lila Richardson, Grace Richardson and Jaxson Scott; one sister, Viola "Libby" Nichols and a host nieces, nephews and cousins.
In addition to his parents, he was also preceded in death by four brothers, James, Fayette, Bert and Benny and seven sisters, Juett, Delores, Margaret, Ruth, Ruby, Josephine and Martha.
Funeral services will be conducted at 12:00 PM Tuesday October 25, 2022 at the First Christian Church, 911 High St., Paris, KY by Rev. Archie Johnson and Rev. Richard Gaines. Burial will follow in the Evergreen Memory Gardens, Paris, KY.
Visitation will be from 10:00 AM Tuesday October 25, 2022 until the hour of service at the church.
Pallbearers will be Gary Nichols, Charlie Nichols, Crit Fisher, Phillip Jones, Leon Nichols, Chase Nichols and Cameron Richardson.
Honorary pallbearers will be Glen Griggs, Joseph Henderson, Charles "Popeye" Henderson and Frank Happy, Jr.
