Irma Jean Delores Sullivan went home to be with the Lord on February 1, 2024 after a long illness. She was born on October 10, 1948 to the late Bishop A.B. Waye, and Lula Mae Waye in Jacksonville (Duval County) Florida. She was married to the late Dr. Nathan R. Sullivan for 56 years. She is a member at New Beginnings C.O.G.I.C., where she served as a Deaconess; and served on the Mother's Board, Prayer and Bible Band Committee, and Pastor's Aid Committee, under Elder John A. Harris. Irma Sullivan received her Business degree from the Fugazzi College of Business And Technology where she met her husband through a friend who went to the University of Kentucky. It was at this time that Nathan knew that Irma was his wife. To this union two daughters were born. She became a full-time Homemaker while her husband worked and later returned to obtain a degree in Accounting at The University of Kentucky. Irma Sullivan worked full-time at The University of Kentucky in The College of Agriculture as an Administrative Assistant and worked at H& R Block doing taxes. After leaving her job at The College of Agriculture, she then started working at The Fayette County Extension Office before retiring as a Receptionist. She is preceded in death by her husband Dr. Nathan R. Sullivan, daughter Tonya M, Sullivan, her parents Bishop A.B Waye and Lula Mae Waye, and her brother Willie James Waye. She leaves to cherish her memory, her daughter, Tera J. Sullivan, two grandsons: Steven Berry and Seth Frye; 1 great grandson, Rome Nathaniel Berry; 2 sisters Lula Clay (Harlan), and Laura Byrd (Florida), several in-laws, Shirley Sullivan-Carter (Newland), Phillip Sullivan (Pam), Walter Sullivan, Phyllis Sullivan, Rachel Sullivan-Thomas, Elizabeth Sullivan-Sabir ( Ramadan), and as well as a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends. Deaconess Sullivan will truly be missed by all of those that were blessed to know her.
