Iva Jean Owens Stevens, widow of James Kenneth "Kenney" Stevens, departed this life on Thursday, October 10, 2024, at Cedar Ridge Health Campus in Cynthiana, Kentucky, at the age of 88 years. She was born in Science Hill, Kentucky, on November 22, 1935, the daughter of the late Vanroe Bryan and Margaret Roy Owens, and worked as an Accounts Payable Clerk at Mallinckrodt for many years after graduating from Pulaski County High School. She was a member of the Calvary Christian Church. In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by her siblings, Ines Jenkins, Dorothy Ray, Betty Bishop, Anthony Owens, Roy Owens, and Hugo Owens. Surviving is a son Byron (Sai) Hardwick; grandchildren, Ray Hardwick, Aya Hardwick; stepdaughters, Debbie Sturgill and Ann Lloyd; a step grandson, Patrick Lloyd; a twin sister, Ina Dean (J.R.) Linville; as well as several nieces and nephews. The funeral for Iva Jean Owens Stevens will be held at Hinton-Turner Funeral Home on Monday, October 14, 2024, at 3:00 p.m. with visitation beginning at 1:00 p.m. To honor the wishes of Ms. Stevens, cremation was chosen with a committal service to be conducted at the time of entombment at Evergreen Memory Gardens. Honorary casket bearers are Ray Hardwick, Patrick Lloyd, Luke Humphries, Mike McClanahan, Wes Johnson, J.R. Linville, Darrell Crouch, Jeff Ritchie, and church members of Calvary Christian Church.
