James Thomas "Tom" Robinson, age 78, beloved husband of Lois "Gayle" Gullett Robinson, entered into eternal rest on Thursday, September 4, 2025, the day of their 55th Wedding Anniversary, at Baptist Health-Lexington, surrounded by his loving family.
He was born October 17, 1946, in Bourbon County, son of the late David F. and Alma Katherine Hawkins Robinson.
Tom was a graduate of Bourbon County High School and the DeVry Institute of Technology in Electronics and Computers. Tom was a U.S. Army Sergeant (E5) stationed in Korea during the Vietnam War. He retired as co-owner of Service Electronics Supply and was a lifelong farmer.
Tom was a faithful member and deacon of Peyton's Lick Christian Church. He was a pillar of his community. He found joy in fishing, tending to his cattle and crops, watching sports, and his favorite show-Gunsmoke. Above all, Tom cherished time spent with his loved ones. He was a steadfast presence in the lives of all who loved him. His journey through life was marked by admirable dedication to his family, work, and faith. His legacy is defined by unwavering devotion, kindness, integrity, and humility.
Tom is survived by his devoted wife, Lois "Gayle" Robinson; three children: Christopher Thomas (Alicia) Robinson, Rebecca Gayle Robinson, Randall Lee (Crystal) Robinson; four grandchildren: Dillon Cole (Brooklyn) Robinson, Alexa Sierrah Mondelli, Bradley Cain Robinson, Alyssa Brooke Ring; and a brother, Bill "Bugs" (Connie) Robinson; and special friends: Harold and Nancy Grooms, as well as many nieces, nephews, and cousins, all of whom felt Tom's kindness and support. In addition to his parents, Tom was preceded in death by two brothers: Jerry Wayne Robinson and David F. Robinson, Jr.; four sisters: Anna Bess Sharon, Eona Jones, Barbara Wilson, and Emma Benson; as well as lifelong minister and friend, Chuck Perry.
Visitation will be from 5:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. Friday, September 12, 2025 at the Hinton-Turner Funeral Home. The funeral service will be held at 11:00 a.m. Saturday, September 13, 2025 at Peyton's Lick Christian Church with Minister Scott Riggs officiating. Interment will be in Evergreen Memory Gardens. Pallbearers will be: Mark Wilson, Tim Jones, Mike Jones, David Sharon, Leslie Sharon, John "Tracy" Sharon, James Franklin Robinson, and Gary Robinson. Honorary bearers will be: Christopher Robinson, Randall Robinson, Billy Earl Wagoner, Justin Wagoner, Austin Davis, Isaiah McCall, Adam McCall, his grandchildren, and the deacons, elders, and men of Peyton's Lick Christian Church.
