Jennifer Ann Blakeman, a light of love and selflessness, passed away at the age of 50 on July 11, 2025, in Lexington, Kentucky. Born on April 5, 1975, to the late John Leslie Blakeman and Alice Faye McLean Tubbs, Jennifer's life was a testament to the unwavering love she had for her family and friends.
Her mother and stepfather, Alice and Steve Tubbs, along with her children, Taya Romero and Aiden Johnson, cherished Jennifer's mama bear instincts. Her brother, Johnny Blakeman, always found comfort in having his teammate to go through life with. As a doting grandmother to Camden and Kamani Romero, she joyfully embraced the nickname "Nonna," a title that she wore as a badge of honor. Jennifer's stepsisters, Stephanie Burris and Emily Payton will remember her for the love that seemed to radiate from her in all her interactions.
Jennifer's professional life included a fulfilling tenure as a devoted employee at Speedway in Paris, Kentucky, where her colleagues will miss her warm and engaging demeanor.
A life so beautifully lived deserves to be beautifully remembered. Jennifer's interests were as wide-ranging as her capacity for love. She found joy in being a mother and grandmother, reveling in travel and adventure when she could. Her presence was a soothing balm in her family's life, serving as a steady source of comfort and joy.
Preceded in death by her father, John Leslie Blakeman, loved ones Eric and Cody Romero, and she is going to be reunited with her first love before kids of her own, her niece, Destiney Dunn, Jennifer's spirit will remain an ever-present essence within the hearts of those who knew and loved her.
Jennifer Ann Blakeman's story does not end here, for she lives on in the cherished memories of her family and friends and the vibrant impact she had on her beloved community. Her kindness and selfless love are the inheritance she leaves to all who had the privilege of knowing her, and it is an inheritance beyond measure.
