Jerry Glenn Price, age 91, a retired mechanical engineer for IBM, widower of Sara Margaret Henson Price, died Friday, January 26, 2024. Jerry was born September 18, 1932 in Paris, son of the late William Glenn Price and Thelma Hill Price Crotty. Jerry was a graduate of Ashland High School and received his Bachelor of Science in mechanical engineering as well as an Aerospace Engineering Certificate from the University of Kentucky.
He was an active member of First Christian Church (Disciples of Christ) where he served as Deacon and Elder and served as project manager for their renovation. Jerry was a former member of Paris Lodge #2, F&AM and loved model trains, travelling, and woodworking during his spare time.
Jerry is survived by three daughters, Martha (Gary) McFarland, Cindy (Will) Southerland, Sally (Doug) Witt; eight grandchildren, Kayla (Ryan) Coburn, Hunter (Ashley) McFarland, Anna Kate McFarland, Jeremy Dane "J.D." Pulliam, Sarah Brynn (Nathan) Deaton, Alexandra Henson Pulliam, Cady Clay Witt, Abby (Ryan) Kalmey; six great grandchildren, Katy Coburn, Colt McFarland, Miller McFarland, Hudson Deaton, Harper Deaton, Huxley Deaton; and a brother, Jim Edd Price.
In addition to his wife and parents, Jerry was preceded in death by a sister, Betty Lou Price Warnock; and two grandchildren, Clay and Clayton McFarland.
Visitation will be 11:00 a.m. Wednesday, January 31, at the First Christian Church followed by the funeral service at 1:00 p.m. with Rev. Rachelle Holmes officiating. Entombment will be in Evergreen Memory Gardens. Casket bearers will be Hunter McFarland, J.D. Pulliam, Ryan Coburn, Ryan Kalmey, Nathan Deaton, and E.R. White. Honorary bearers will be Gary McFarland, Will Southerland, Doug Witt, Jim Edd Price, Earl Sosby Jr., Bill Henson, Bill Redmon, Henry Henson, Chris Blackwell, Tug Wilson, Burl Lovell, Cathy Caldwell, Marie Smart, and Carol and Red Grange. In lieu of flowers, donations are suggested to First Christian Church (Disciples of Christ) Building Fund, 911 High Street, Paris, KY 40361.
