John Lee Biddle, Sr., 91, widow of the late Lillian Montgomery Biddle, died Friday September 28, 2018 at the VA Medical Center, Leestown Rd., Lexington, KY.
A native of Clark County, KY, he was the son of the late George Robert and Jennie Clemmons Biddle. He was a retired farmer and a member of the Parkway Baptist Church, Lexington. He was an avid fisherman and golfer, a UK football and basketball fan and was a veteran of the United States Army where he served his country faithfully during World War II.
He is survived by five children, Johnny Biddle, Connie (Gary) Jackson, Danny (Barbara) Biddle, Billy (Melinda) Biddle and Susie (John) Langfels; eight grandchildren, Heather Sparks, David Jackson, Michael Langfels, Cheryl Langfels, Aaron Biddle, Andrew Biddle, Christopher Basket and Michelle Donahue; ten great grandchildren, one great great grandchild; one brother, David Biddle; two sisters, Geneva Ginter and Cora Witt and several nieces, nephews and cousins.
In addition to his spouse and parents he was also preceded in death by one granddaughter, Regina Thornberry; four brothers, Thomas, Sonny, Clay and Ray Biddle and three sisters, Betty Jones, Dorothy Burns and Edna Patterson.
Funeral services will be conducted at 11:00 AM Tuesday October 2, 2018 at the Bedford Acres Christian Church, 5414 Lexington Rd., Paris, KY by Bro. Keith Sands. Burial will follow in the Evergreen Memory Gardens, Paris, KY.
Visitation will be from 5-8 PM Monday October 1, 2018 at the church. Pallbearers will be David Jackson, Michael Langfels, Aaron Biddle, Andrew Biddle, Ben Sparks and Eric Sparks. Honorary pallbearers will be Heather Sparks and Cheryl Langfels.
Memorials may take the form of contributions to the Parkway Baptist Church, 1915 N. Broadway, Lexington, KY 40505. The funeral arrangements were entrusted to the Lusk-McFarland Funeral Home 1120 Main St., Paris, KY 40361.
