John W. Sargent Jr., 67, retired owner of Sargent's Blacktopping, died Saturday, July 20, 2019 at his home.

He was born September 2, 1951 in Paris, son of Jane Eades Barlow, of Paris, and the late John W. Sargent Sr. Johnny was a graduate of Bourbon County High School and was a member of First Baptist Church.

He is survived by his mother, Jane Barlow; two grandchildren, Preston Scott (Tiffany) Sargent, Alexandria Elizabeth "Lexie" (Ryan) Sargent; two great grandchildren, Preslee Renee Sargent, Riley Renee Shelly; and many great friends. He was preceded in death by a son, John Jacob Sargent; and his stepfather, Marion "Red" Barlow.

Graveside funeral services will be held 2:00 p.m. Monday, July 29, at Evergreen Memory Gardens by Rev. Don Reed. In lieu of flowers, memorials are suggested to Bluegrass Hospice Care or First Baptist Church.
