Clifton Joseph Gay, Jr., 82, died Thursday, July 12 at his residence.

Clifton was the son of the late Christine Burnside Gay and Clifton Chester Gay. He was a 1955 graduate of Dunbar High School and retiree of 42+ years from Lexington -Fayette Urban County Government Division of Sanitation Waste.

He was a member and Deacon of Historic Pleasant Green Baptist Church, Lexington, KY. Besides his parents He was preceded in death by his loving wife and high school sweetheart, Annette Brown Gay, and brother Frank Taylor.

He will be sadly missed by his five children: Rev. Clifton J. (Minister Gail) Gay, III, Rev. Sherry (William) Green, Dawn (Everette) Martin, Candace Snowden and Jacqueline Howard; nine grandchildren, seventeen great-grandchildren, brothers, Richard and Gary Gay; Special friend, Shannon Parrish and numerous relatives and friends,

Funeral services will be held Sat 1:00pm Historic Pleasant Green Missionary Baptist Church, visitation 11:00am arrangements by Hawkins-Taylor Funeral Home.
