Sister Joyce K. Lewis Hanley was born on November 3, 1949, to the late John K. Lewis and Juanita M. Brown Lewis in Lexington, Kentucky. She departed this life on Saturday, February 26, 2022.

Sister Joyce was a faithful member of historic Pleasant Green Missionary Baptist Church. She was a member of the 40-year Christian group Children and Vacation Bible School.

She worked at the V.A. Hospital for over 25 years and was known for her caring ways.

She leaves to cherish her loving memory: her husband of over 50 years, Larry Hanley, Sr.; four children, Mia Hanley, Timika Sales, Larry Hanley, Jr., and John Hanley, all of Lexington, Kentucky; four sisters, Janet (Garland) Byrd, Jacquelyn (Warren) Sweeney, Johnetta (Wayne) Frazier, and Juanita "Tiny" Lewis; Jonathan (Sabrina) Lewis; a host of grandchildren; along with a host of relatives and lifetime friend, Dorothy Carter.

She was preceded in death by her parents and her great-nephew, Elian Alfaro.
