IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Juanita (Flora)
Temple
February 27, 1929 – May 3, 2024
Juanita Flora Temple, a beacon of warmth and love, passed away peacefully on May 3, 2024, at the University of Kentucky Medical Center in Lexington, KY, the same city where she first graced the world with her presence on February 27, 1929. Born to Russell Flora and Arizona Blanton Flora, Juanita's life was a tapestry of dedication to her family, work, and community.
Juanita's legacy is carried on by her loving family, including her daughter, Dot (Allen) Hendricks, and son, Samuel Kearns. She was the cherished grandmother to Mark Allen (Deanna) Hendricks and Leslie Nicole Goodman, and the adored great-grandmother to Katherine Clang, Christopher Hendricks, Stephanie Carman, Logan Hendricks, Presley Goodman, and Harleigh Hendricks. The family tree continued to flourish with the arrival of her great-great-grandchildren, Kash Allen Hendricks and Liam Matthew Prater. Juanita also held a special place in the hearts of her numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins. She was preceded in death by her devoted husband, Robert Temple, her parents, her grandson, Stephen Hendricks, and her sister, Ruth Guy.
Juanita's work ethic shone brightly throughout her career. She retired from McAlpin's Clothing store and previously contributed her skills to Hansley Mills sewing factory. Her commitment to her community was evident through her active membership at Liberty Road Community Church.
Juanita's interests were simple yet profound. She found joy in word search puzzles, attending church services, and the companionship of bingo nights. Known for her friendly demeanor, loving nature, and thoughtful gestures, Juanita's influence was felt by all who knew her.
As we bid farewell to Juanita Flora Temple, we celebrate a life lived with purpose and kindness. Her memory will continue to inspire and guide us, just as her presence once brightened every room she entered.
