Judith Carol "Judy" Banta Martin, wife of Doug Martin, of Paris, departed this life on Thursday, March 16, 2023, at Baptist Health Hospital in Lexington, Kentucky, with family by her side, at the age of 75 years. Judy was born in Paris, Kentucky on June 30, 1947, the daughter of the late Ray and Beatrice Wagoner Banta, was a graduate of Bourbon County High School, was in Home Interior sales as a representative for forty years, a member of Hutchison Methodist Church where she was the organist, as well as having played for countless funerals at Hinton-Turner Funeral Home over the years. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her brother, Billy Banta. Along with her husband Doug, she is survived by one daughter, Kendra Scott and her husband Brian; a grandson, Bentley Carpenter; sister, Eleanor Dale; and brother, Jimmy Banta and his wife Lucy. Also surviving are several nieces and nephews. The funeral service for Judith Carol "Judy" Banta Martin will be at 10:00 a.m. on Tuesday, March 21, 2023, at Hinton-Turner Funeral Home with Rev. Jim Groves and Chance Robinson officiating. Interment will follow in Evergreen Memory Gardens with casket bearers being Doug Wagoner, Gary Dale, Greg Banta, Jeff Banta, Larry Woosley, Bentley Carpenter, and Brian Scott. Honorary bearers are Donnie Ray Wagoner, Jim Fryman, J.D. Johnson, Ronnie Johnson, Jarvis Wagoner, and Wayne Wagoner. Visitation will be at Hinton-Turner Funeral Home on Monday night, March 20, 2023, from 5:00 p.m. - 8:00 p.m. In lieu of flowers the family suggests memorial donations to Hutchison Methodist Church, 251 Hutchison Road, Paris, Kentucky 40361.
