Leadonia "Dee Dee" Jenkins, daughter of Audrey Smith and the stepdaughter of the late Charles  I. Smith, went home to be with the Lord on Sunday, August 25, 2019. Our Lord called her suddenly at University of Kentucky Medical Center, Lexington, Ky. She leaves to morn her brothers Gerald and Virgil Smith, her stepsister, Donna Lee Davis, 2 aunts, Sally Madison and Geroline Mynatt, many relatives and friends. Dee Dee was born October 22, 1955 in Lexington, Kentucky where she attended Tates Creek Senior High School and graduated in 1973. Dee Dee worked for several establishments in the food service industry. Over the years, her career included the following organizations: The Phoenix Hotel, Red Mile, Lexington, Kentucky and Turf Catering Company at Keenland in Lexington, Kentucky. Several of these positions was with the America Restaurant Association better known as ARA. In her later years, Dee Dee was challenged with health issues which rendered her disabled. She was a caring, loving, selfless sister dearly loved that will be very missed. She was a faithful member of the East 2nd Street Christian Church, Lexington, Kentucky for years and supported in various activities in support of the church and its members.
