With heavy hearts, we announce the homecoming of Lisa McVey Sexton, a cherished soul known
for her unwavering faith, compassionate heart, and resilient spirit. Born on May 12, 1969, in
Lexington, Kentucky, Lisa's journey in this life came to a peaceful end in her beloved hometown
on June 26, 2025.
Lisa lived a life characterized by devotion—to her family, her vocation, and her faith. As the
beloved wife of Eddie Duane Sexton, she found true companionship and shared adventures that
spanned the contours of the United States on their motorcycle, feeling the freedom of the road
beneath them. The joys of her life were her children, Kallie McVey, Joshua McVey, and stepson
Isaac(Kayla) Sexton. Her unwavering support as a mother was her greatest legacy. The bonds of
family further extended to her father, Johnny (Frances) Bryant, her affectionate sister, Billie Jo
(Tommy) Ritchie, and brother, John (Rhonda Byrd) Bryant, along with her adoring mother-in-law,
Gale Sexton. She was held dear in the memories of several nieces, nephews, and cousins who
were touched by her kindness.
Lisa's professional calling as a Registered Nurse at the University of Kentucky Medical Center
and Eastern State Hospital demonstrated herself less commitment to healing and caring for
others. Her patients and colleagues benefited greatly from her skill and dedication. As a steadfast
member of Southland Christian Church, her faith was the cornerstone of her life, providing her
the strength and grace to face any challenge. Those who knew Lisa will remember her as a beacon
of God's love through her kind deeds and thoughtful words.
Though she had many talents, Lisa had a particular knack for fixing things—a testament to her
strong-willed nature and handy skills that served her in every facet of life. Her passions weren't
limited to her work and her family; shew as also an enthusiast of the earth's beauty. The fruits of
her labor could be seen in the blossoms of her flower garden and the bounty of her vegetable
patch. Traveling brought Lisa great joy, whether it was the thrill of a cruise across the seas or the
tranquility of boating on the lake. Her adventures were as much a part of her journey as her love
for her family.
Preceded in death by her mother, Billie Crouch Watkins; stepfather, Boobie Watkins; and fatherin-law,John Sexton, Lisa's spirit joins a lineage of loved ones whose memories are treasured.
Lisa leaves behind a legacy of unwavering love, inspiring resilience, and the soul of a caretaker
who lifted the spirits of all she touched. Her life's imprint on this earth was as vibrant as the
gardens she tended with such care and will continue to bloom in the hearts of those who
cherished her. As we celebrate Lisa McVey Sexton's life, we hold firm to her memory—a kindred
spirit who walked in trust with the Lord and exemplified the fruits of the Holy Spirit in her every
act. She will be profoundly missed, as her life was a testament to the enduring power of kindness
and faith.
