Loretta Geraldine Henson, age 98, of Paris, Kentucky, passed away on August 7, 2026. She was born to Frank Henson and Pearlie Avery Henson on September 22, 1927, in Harlan, Kentucky, and lived a long life marked by devotion to her family, hard work, and a warm spirit that touched those who knew her.Loretta spent many years working at Bourbon Laundry and also served as a housekeeper for many years. She was known for her strong work ethic and dependable nature, and she carried herself with quiet dignity throughout her life. Those who knew her will remember her as a woman who took pride in caring for others and in making a home filled with love and comfort.She loved her family deeply and found great joy in spending time with them. Loretta especially enjoyed watching game shows and was a devoted fan of Steve Harvey. She also loved cooking from scratch, and her meals were a reflection of the care and love she poured into everything she did. Her family and friends will always remember her for her kindness, her sense of humor, and the simple pleasures that brought her happiness.Loretta is survived by her daughters, Teresa Henson and Janice (Melvin) Rankin-Ladson; her grandchildren, Vada Rankin, Tona Henson, Christie Henson, Martina (Greg) Clemons, Tina White, Timothy Rankin, Cregg Hill, Izzah Stout, Lashawna Mckee, Shawn (Ashley) Fomas, LeAnn (Tommy) Walker, Leslie Rankin, Ybarra Rankin, Teresa Pilot, Jonathan Rankin, and Tessie (Mark) Thomas; her nieces, Maricia Cummins, Paulette Blackburn, Lois Hall, and Gloria (Donald) Jackson; her son-in-law, Henry Brown; a special daughter-in-law, Dorothea Rankin and a host of nieces, cousins, great grandchildren and great-great grandchildren.She was preceded in death by her sons, Bobby Ray (Mary) Henson, John ‘Pepper Dick’ ( Jo Ann) Rankin, Leroy Henson and a special son, Clayton Rankin; her daughters, Bertha Brown and Patricia Annette Rankin; her sister, Ruby Mae Blackburn; her grandchildren, Christopher Ross Rankin; Tia Marie Henson, Robert ‘Rob’ Henson, Lisa Brown, and Lucretia Henson; her great-granddaughter, Tyra Myers and her great grandson, Shawn Washington.Loretta Geraldine Henson leaves behind a legacy of love, strength, and family devotion. Her memory will continue to live on in the hearts of all who were blessed to know her, and she will be dearly missed by her family and friends.Funeral services will be conducted at 12:00 PM Saturday August 15, 2026, by Dr. Rev. Morgan Gilkey at the Lusk-McFarland Funeral Home Chapel, 1120 Main St., Paris, KY. Burial will follow in the Evergreen Memory Gardens.
