Lydia Morefield, 93 of Casselberry, FL, passed away March 14, 2026 in the care of Advent Health Orlando with her children by her side. Lydia was born on March 18, 1933 in Cincinnati, Ohio to the late Charles and Mary Gray. At a young age the Gray family moved to Fleming County, KY, which years later is where she met and married Raymond Morefield the father of their four children Roger, Melvin, Debra and Darlene. She loved showing her children the passions she had for gardening, the theater, and the joy of new adventures by traveling.

After retiring from the Naval Air Station in Pensacola, FL, they were able to move to Orlando to be near their two daughters. This is when her true passion for adventure and travel started to come alive. She had the joy of riding a camel/sleeping in a man made tent in the Sahara desert in Morocco, swimming with the dolphins in Mexico, parasailing in the Bahamas, Ziplining in Costa Rico, sailing the Rhine in Europe, snow skiing in Vermont and walking the great wall of China. These were just a few adventures she got to enjoy in her life. She and Raymond loved going to the local VFW on Friday nights dancing the night away. She even had the invitation of joining the dancers on the bar at the famous Coyote Uglies in Texas. There wasn’t one thing she wouldn’t try.

Lydia is preceded in death by her husband Raymond (2021) and daughter Darlene(2005).
The family would like to thank Advent Health Orlando for all the care they gave to our mother and continue to do for us.
Services honoring her life will be at Evergreen Memory Gardens in Paris, KY at 10:00. on June 19th.
