Mary Elizabeth Scruggs, born December 24, 1929, to Charlie and Mary Webb, passed on November 26, 2022.

Mary is survived by her children Gregory (Alyce) Scruggs, Marylynn (Tony) Scruggs-Miller, and Eric Scruggs; her siblings Bennett (Belinda) Webb Sr. and Juanita Cherry; her sisters-in-law Ruth Curll and Martha Locke; her grandchildren Rhonda (Fred) McKinney, Tamika Scruggs, and Jacqueline Scruggs; her great grandchildren Tyjuan McKinney, Freddy McKinney, Tyson Scruggs, Malachi Scruggs, and Jaliyah Scruggs; her nieces Shana Webb, Charlese Webb, and Leona (Andre) Howard; her nephews Brian (Diane) Stewart, Bennett (Melissa) Webb Jr., Nathan Webb, and John (Regina) Cherry; her great-great nieces and nephews B.W. Webb, Mia Webb, and Olivia Stewart; and a host of other nieces and nephews.

She is preceded in death by her husband Samuel Scruggs and her siblings Fanny Ella Stewart, Charlie James Webb, and Willie Nathan Webb.

Mary was a member of the Glen Arvin Avenue Church of Christ, the Sigma Gamma Rho Sorority, the American Dietetic Association, and was a dietitian at the Veterans Hospital for over 35 years.

A service will be held for Mary at Glen Arvin Avenue Church of Christ on Saturday, December 3, 2022, at 10am with burial to follow at Evergreen Memorial Gardens. A visitation will be held from 4-6pm Friday, December 2, 2022, at Kerr Brothers Funeral Home-Main Street.
