Mary Elaine Young, 92, of Midway, Kentucky, formerly of Lexington, Kentucky, and Cisne, Illinois, passed away peacefully at Homeplace on October 26. Born to Lowery and Mary Ellis, Elaine lived a life defined by faith, family, and compassion for others.

A registered nurse before dedicating herself full-time to raising her family, Elaine brought care and gentleness to all who knew her. She was the beloved wife of the late Everett Young and a devoted mother to Mike Young (Sherry), Timothy Young (Lu), Barry Young (Sherri), and Melissa Beck (Greg).

Elaine's joy multiplied through her grandchildren: Crystal Young, Debbie Young, Jared (Marlee) Young, Janna (Tim) Fogarty, Tyler (Toni) Young, Natalie (Evan) Ball, Jacob Beck, Alayna Beck, and Grant Beck, and her great-grandchildren: Brooklyn, Ellis, Emmett, Clara, and Adalynn. She was preceded in death by her brother and sister-in-law, Bob and Betty Ellis.

Elaine was a longtime member of Southern Acres Christian Church in Lexington and Jessamine Christian Church, where her faith and friendships enriched her life and the lives of many others. Known for her warmth and creativity, Elaine was a wonderful cook and decorator whose home was always filled with beauty, comfort, and warm hospitality. She will be remembered as a beloved mother, grandmother, aunt, and friend whose kindness and steady spirit blessed all who knew her.

Funeral services will take place at Kerr Brothers Funeral Home, 3421 Harrodsburg Road, Lexington, on Tuesday, November 4, 2025. Visitation will take place from 10 a.m. to noon followed by the funeral at noon, Brother Wally Rendel officiating. Pallbearers will be Tyler Young, Jared Young, Jacob Beck, Grant Beck, Evan Ball, and Tim Fogarty. A graveside service will take place at Evergreen Memory Gardens in Bourbon County following the funeral.
