Melvin Dewey Hutchens, Sr., 83, passed away on January 24, 2021.

He was born on October 28, 1937 to the late Thomas J. and Sallie M. Hutchens.

Melvin was a Fayette County Fireman for 15 years before becoming a horseman at Hardboot and Mereworth Farm's.

He is preceded in death by six brothers and four sisters. Melvin is survived by four children, Donald, Christine, Melvin Jr. and Melinda; with 14 grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren.

A funeral service will be held at 1pm Friday, January 29, 2021 at Kerr Brother Funeral Home – Main Street. Visitation is before the service from 11-1pm.

Burial is at Evergreen Memory Gardens. In lieu of flowers the family has requested donations be made to New Vocations
