Mervin Eugene Gross, 81, passed away Monday, December 30, 2024 at his home in Lexington, KY. He wa born August 18, 1943 in Breathitt County to the late Clayton & Mattie Watkins Gross. He is survived by: son Mervin (Sandy) Gross, Jr.; daughters Dawn Marie (Mike) Costello & Joanna Gross; brother Ralph Gross; sister Joyce Klave; grandchildren Cassie (Daniel) Reyes, Jennifer Costello, Mikey Costello. Donnie Wilson, Kim Gross, Porter Gross, Mervin Gross, Charles Gross, Christy Michelle (Mike) Gillum, Amy Faye Watkins, Whitney Thompson, Brandy Rose, & Jeff Willhoite; 14 great-grandchildren; and 16 great-great grandchildren. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by: wife Josephine Friend Gross; daughter Stephanie Wilson; brother Earl Gross; sisters Maudie Gabbard, Ella Oaks & Ruby Fisher; and grandson Robbie Wilson. Funeral services will be held with Rev. Mark Roysdon officiating at 5:00PM on Friday, January 3 at Wells Funeral Home in Stanton. Visitation will precede the funeral on Friday, beginning at 2:00PM for family & 3:00PM for friends. Interment will occur at 2:00PM on Monday, January 6 at Evergreen Memorial Gardens in Bourbon County.
