Oneil Stamper, 79, husband of Joyce Ritchie Stamper and widower of the late Shirley Stamper, died Thursday February 1, 2024, at Baptist Health, Lexingotn, KY.

He was born in Whitesburg, KY to the late McKinley and Della Morton Stamper. Oneil was a retired autobody technician at Dan Cummins. He always tried to stay busy, not liking to sit around, he enjoyed camping, hunting, fishing, gardening and basically anything outdoors. Other hobbies he enjoyed were watching UK Basketball games, tennis matches, NASCAR racing and old westerns.

In addition to his wife, he is survived by four children, Ed (Lisa) Stamper, Donna Mastin, Neil (Leslie) Stamper and Neil (Carol) Moore; six grandchildren, Katrina Herrington, Brittney (Brian Royse) Hughes, Ryan Stamper, Amber (Brad) Evans, Neil (Erica) Moore and Ashley Watkins; fourteen great grandchildren, Nathan Herrington, Lexi Herrington, Emma Hughes, Ella Royse, Brook Watkins, Jayden Watkins, Bradley Watkins, Weston Watkins, Shylah Schooley, Amelia Evans, Maziyah Owens, Madix Owens, Ha'Kayah Brown and Magenta Brown; one aunt, Polly Stamper and several nieces, nephews and cousins, including Angela (Barry) Sargent.

In addition to his parents and his first wife, he was also preceded in death by stepmother, Lava Stamper; granddaughter, Samantha Stamper and nephew, Gary Willoughby, Jr.

Funeral services will be conducted at 1:00 PM Tuesday February 6, 2024, at the Lusk-McFarland Funeral Home, 1120 Main St., by Pastor Ben Burke. Burial will follow in the Evergreen Memory Gardens, Paris, KY. Visitation will be from 11:00 AM Tuesday February 6, 2024, until the hour of service at the funeral home.

Pallbearers will be Nathan Herrington, Barry Sargent, Brian Royse, Jeff Stamper, Gene Jolly and Jay Jolly. The honorary pallbearer will be Dale Ritchie.

Memorials may take the form of contributions to the American Heart Association.

The funeral arrangements were entrusted to the Lusk-McFarland Funeral Home, 1120 Main St., Paris, KY.
