IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Ophelia D.
Clay
September 11, 1952 – May 19, 2023
Ophelia "Dee Dee" Clay, Age 70 of Lexington, Ky, passed away peacefully on May 19, 2023 after her courageous 16-year battle with kidney disease.
On September 11, 1952 our angel was born to the late J.T. Clay Sr and Alice Clay. She was a graduate of Henry Clay high school. She then spent her adult years working as a cook, taking care of her 3 children, and enjoying life. She loved traveling, playing bingo, and spending time with family. As a young adult she gave her life to Christ and was baptized, becoming a faithful member of First African Baptist Church in Lexington. Dee Dee had a smile that could put anyone at ease, with her pleasant personality that was contagious to everyone she met. Her sense of humor was second to none, she was as compassionate as she was funny. Throughout her entire battle she stayed positive and pleasantly kept pushing forward.
She was proceeded in death by four siblings: Harvey Clay, J. Andrew Dudley, J.T. Clay Jr, and Gerald Clay.
She is survived by her 3 children; Iricke Clay, Demond Clay (Angel Allison), and Jonne' Clay (Larry Briscoe), Siblings; Antione Clay (Dante Clay), Barbara Clay (Devon Brown), Shereese Hugley, and Shauntia Walker, 9 grandchildren, 12 great grandchildren along with a host of nieces, nephews, and cousins. She also leaves her cousin/best friend Margaret Clay to cherish her memories.
