Owen Edward Stephens, 74, of Lexington, passed away on May 18th. Edward was born in Mount Vernon, Kentucky, to the late Albert and Flora Stephens. He was a proud member of the Army, and was a Combat Engineer during the Vietnam War. He was also a proud Kentucky Colonel. Edward loved fishing, his jeep, and especially spending time with his family. He is preceded in death by his parents, Albert and Flora; his wife Brenda Stephens; his second wife Jane Fairris; his brother, Allen Stephens; his sisters, Mary Buckler, and Christine O'Hare; his daughter, Amanda Combs; and his son, Phillip Stephens. Edward is survived by his daughter, Cindy Carroll; his step-children, David (Sara) Smith, Eddie (Pam) Dean; his grand-children, Tyler Carroll, Sean Carroll, Sierra Combs, Hailey Stephens, Abby Stephens, Drew Stephens, Josh Dean, Miranda Page, Varl Lee Dean, Molly Smith, and Ella Smith; and his great-grandchildren Fynn Dean, Emma Page, and Ryder Dean. Edward is dearly loved and will be missed. A funeral service will be held Friday, May 21st at 1:30 PM at Kerr Brothers Funeral Home on East Main Street. Visitation will be the same day at from 11:30 AM- 1:30 PM. Committal service will follow at 2:45 PM at Evergreen Memorial Gardens.
