Patty Jean Allen Taylor, 87, of Raleigh, North Carolina and formerly of Paris, widow of John O. Taylor, passed away on Sunday, May 29, 2022. She was born June 28, 1934, in Paris, daughter of the late Lyman S. and Helen Burden Allen and was a graduate of Bourbon County Vocational School. Patty was so devoted to her family needs and running the household. Whether it be school functions or taking John to and from work, laundry done, ironed and put away, full meals on the table with sit down dinner.... she never complained and carried forward. She was always putting the family needs above herself. She took care of John at home fighting terminal cancer day and night until his death at their home. Her life career was her "Family"! She never really took time for herself. Patty enjoyed gardening, flowers, spending time outdoors, loved to dance, and enjoyed bowling, even competing in tournaments. She is survived by two daughters, Johnna McMurry, Yvonne (Robert) Hall; a son, Alan B. (Dawn) Taylor; two grandchildren, Kelley (John) Hall; Janet (Ed) Ramos; and a brother, Jerry (Betty Ann) Allen. In addition to her husband and parents, Patty was preceded in death by a brother, James Allen. Visitation will be 11:00 a.m. Monday, June 6, at the Hinton-Turner Funeral Home followed by the service at 12:00 noon. Interment will be in Evergreen Memory Gardens.
