REV. PRICE DANIEL MITCHELL, JR., age 81, Cynthiana, died Saturday, March 24, 2018 at Harrison Memorial Hospital.
He was born in Lexington, November 1, 1936 to the late Rev. Price Daniel and Henley Sweat Mitchell and preceded in death by a sister, Ruth Mitchell.
He was a retired minister over 50 years of ministry at St. James A.M.E. Church. He joined Quinn Chapel A.M.E. church at an early age. He was a graduate of the Old Douglas High School in 1956. Where he played basketball, and was in the marching band playing the bass drums. He went to Kentucky State College and went on to ministry school through the A.M.E. Church. He did his trail sermon at Quinn Chapel A.M.E. Church. He ministered throughout the state of Kentucky. He sung bass in the gospel group called, The Rebelators that was started in the early 1960's. Wherever he went he touched everyone's hearts in every community he was in. He will be truly missed.
He is survived by four daughters, Diane Spencer, Lexington, Angela Mitchell, Shelbyvlle and Helen Broadus and Ada Mitchell, both of Dayton, Ohio; two sons, Price Daniel Mitchel III and Senca Robertson, both of Lexington and numerous, grandchildren, great grandchildren and great-great grandchildren.
Funeral services will be at 11:00 A.M. Tuesday at the Quinn Chapel A.M.E. Church, 744 Charles Avenue, Lexington, Kentucky 40508, by Rev. Everhart Walker.
