Regina Hallis Rayan, 62, passed away peacefully on May 11, 2025, in her hometown of Lexington, Kentucky. Born on September 26, 1962, to James L. Hallis and Mary Catherine (Strange) Hallis, Regina's life was a testament to the power of caring and compassion.
Regina's journey began in the heart of Lexington, where she grew up surrounded by the warmth of her family. Her father, James, predeceased her, as did her beloved husband, Ihsan Rayan, her brother, Kenneth Hallis, and her sister, Teresa Chowning. She leaves behind her adoring mother, Mary Catherine Hallis, her cherished children, Omar Rayan, Ashley Hallis, Hasan Rayan, and Mariyah Rayan, her treasured granddaughters, Kinsley and Kamryn Rayan, and her beloved sister, Sharon Hart, who will all hold her memory dear.
After completing her associate's degree, Regina dedicated her life to nurturing the minds and hearts of children as a daycare director. Her natural ability to create a loving and safe environment made her a pillar in the community and a role model to both her colleagues and the many families she served. Regina's work was not just a job; it was a calling that she fulfilled with grace and joy.
