Richard Daniel Flavin, Jr., 62, went home to be with the Lord on Saturday, June 6, 2020, in Morehead, KY. He was born January 23, 1958, in Greenville, SC. Due to Covid-19 guidelines, a private family funeral service will be held at 10 a.m. on Friday, June 12 at Pea Ridge Baptist Church with Rev. Greg Creasy officiating. However, friends may view the service live online by going to Pea Ridge Baptist Church on Facebook. Richard is survived by his loving mother, Helen Grace Flavin; one brother, Daniel Flavin; two daughters, Cassandra Pennington and Chelsey Flavin; and five precious grandchildren, Luke and Leo Pennington, Bryant Flavin, Brooklynn Kidd, and Ryland Estep. He was preceded in death by his father, Richard Daniel Flavin, Sr.; and his two brothers, David and Matthew Flavin. Richard’s greatest joy in life was his family and friends. He had a heart of gold and enough love to go around for everyone, even those he didn’t know. Richard lived to dance and is now dancing in Heaven and reminiscing about all of the good times he shared with us here on Earth. A Celebration of Life is being planned, which will be held at a later date (still to be determined). In lieu of flowers, the family is asking that donations be made to the Go Fund Me page instead, in order to assist with Richard’s final expenses.
