Robert C. Byrd passed away Thursday May 15, 2025, at the Homestead Post Acute Nursing Home, after a lengthy illness. He was born January 19, 1933, to the late Edward and Francis Byrd.

He confessed a hope in Christ and United with the Imani Baptist Church, Lexington, KY under leadership of Pastor Willis Polk. He was a devoted father, grandfather, and great grandfather.

He was proceeded in death by his wife of 50 years, Ella L. Byrd. Two sons: Michael Byrd and Gregory Bledsoe. One sister Edna Byrd Jones. Two brothers: Ernest Byrd and John "Herman" Byrd.

He also leaves to cherish his memory: One brother: Donald "Duck" Byrd and 8 children: Marakeia Arthur Campbell (Tonya), Maria Bledsoe, Robert C. Bledsoe (Linda), Dave Covington (Cheryl), Wendell Simpson (Bernice), Gwendolyn Mitchell (Jessie), Kenneth Hughes (Tresha), and Regina Hughes. 25 grandchildren, 53 great-grandchildren, 10 great-great grandchildren, and a host of nieces and nephews' cousins and friends.
